UBC announces leadership transition
The University of British Columbia's Board of Governors regretfully announced today that President Arvind Gupta has resigned to return to the pursuit of his academic career. Dr. Gupta has made meaningful accomplishments in his tenure as president, but has decided he can best contribute to the university and lead Canada's innovation agenda by resuming his academic career and leadership roles in the business and research community.

US Students Discover Israel, Make Science Discoveries
Arutz Sheva was on scene to speak with some of the undergraduate science majors taking part in the fifth annual Summer Science Research Internship Program, a joint initiative between Bar-Ilan University (BIU) and Yeshiva University (YU). Of the participants 23 are from Yeshiva College, and four others are from Cornell, Touro and Queens college.

Senators seek funds for SUNY Poly nanotech center in Utica
UTICA, N.Y. (AP) >> New York's two U.S. senators are seeking federal funding for a public-private partnership to create a nanotechnology testbed site in Utica. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand said Thursday that SUNY Polytechnic Institute, along with local companies SEMATECH, Edwards Vacuum and INFICON, have applied for a $1.25 million grant to establish an Advanced Manufacturing Performance Center at SUNY Poly's Quad-C in Utica.
