If I knew in 1986 how much it was going to cost to keep Pixar going, I doubt if I would've bought the company! 'The problem was, for many years the cost of the computers required to make animation we could sell was tremendously high.
Though Pixar is the pioneer of computer animation,
the essence of our business is to create compelling stories
and memorable characters.
It is chiseled in stone at our studios that no amount of technology can turn a bad story into a good one.
