Shirley Temple Paper Doll Set

The Shirley Temple paper doll set is from 1976 and has a lightweight cardboard doll with stand and has 15 outfits (amazon states 19 outfits) on heavyweight paper that punch out and a lightweight cardboard tote that can be put together to hold doll & outfits. I measured and found that the doll and a few of the outfits are too tall to fit down in the tote, so doll and taller outfits

I recommend this paper doll set, it would make a nice gift for a child or an adult collector.I would recommend finding a small box to store them in. The outfits are quite colorful & bright and are from the Shirley Temple movies

When Twentieth Century Pictures company had their expensive merger with the Fox Film Corporation in 1935, hung Daryl Zanuck studio boss on two contract stars to pull the new company through its money problems. Tragedy struck the same year that Rogers died in a plane crash in Alaska. Zanuck turned his financial burden on the shoulders of six, Shirley Temple (it was actually seven, but it was not until I was twelve years old).

Fox had signed a bad year for Hollywood with a record number of closing cinemas around the country in the year 1933rd His ability to sing and dance was unpleasant for some researchers in the study "a little premature Monster." Later, when he has changed his main financial assets of the attitude to the field. Once little Shirley entered the police station and was taken by an officer of the children: "What you favorite?", The room was quiet. everyone was looking. If dropped, could lose his job any. very gently, he laid and stepped back.

In real life, the actress Shirley wanted to have a normal existence, so Zanuck made her desire for the same on the big screen. Depression audience fell in love with her determination and optimism. Because his films do not require great special effects, famous places or costars, they made huge profits, which had perhaps highlighting a study of the most valuable film sometimes causes resentment make. Once there was a scene with Lionel Barrymore, then a line in the sky cry flubbed when corrected. Again he worked with Adolphe Menjou who left all the curse "This little blankety-white makes a monkey out of me." Not everyone felt that way. His partner in the Little Colonel (1935), Bill "Bojangles" Robinson often held hands with Shirley as she walked along through the many Fox. And John Ford, Daryl Zanuck assigning annoyed him to direct Shirley Wee Willie Winkie (1937) came to respect the work ethic of the child. Zanuck blamed rightly Ford bad influence when Shirley started the short mogul how to deal with "Uncle Pipsqueak."

She was a very commercialized way. He could retire from the single sale of Shirley Temple dolls. With director Allan Dwan accelerated to Twentieth Century Fox, when he was stopped by a policeman. "Ok ... that said partner! It is one of these flags Shirley Temple in the passenger seat? My daughter for a killing of which would. OK friend, give me one of these badges and we will forget everything."

Shirley career has been largely out of his overprotective mother Gertrude, the grab and say from the shoulders before each scene ". Shirley spark, the spark" Zanuck wife Shirley Temple play allows frustrated by not varied pieces (not realizing she was a child, George Bernard Shaw offered her head in its theatrical version of Caesar and Cleopatra). Zanuck said the bold character in the film Shirley had to be repeated to remain popular. Gertrude would require the study cut a scene where another child looked better than her daughter. This caused great distress to other parents who answered a rumor by introducing that Shirley was really a dwarf.

Shirley conservative banker father George has struggled to cope with the trappings of fame. Once it requested a meeting with Zanuck. "Mr. Zanuck, I want your advice on this fan mail I got. I have not shown that Gertrude and I'm trying." Zanuck was surprised letters from women across the country for George with the father of her children want to read. Zanuck, who was renowned for his womanizing gave simple advice: "If you can not promise a child, to remain faithful to his wife."

Zanuck kept spies of the child to inform activities in the study. Once interrupted a meeting with John Steinbeck made to tend after the hearing that had fallen and broke a tooth. On another occasion. It was attended by HG Wells. Shirley was polite and was named after the famous author, he was told the little moppet who had just met the most important man in the world. "Uh uh. President Roosevelt was the main man. And Governor Merriam is second." Later Zanuck heard this report while furiously smoking a cigar. "Who told you that he is the third?"

No matter how much Zanuck hid in the former Shirley screen. When the First World War broke moviegoers away from feeling. Twentieth Century Fox began to make films more weight than Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath (1940). Shirley was declared at the age of ten on the hill. As a teenager she was independent. Without her mother to push him, he never achieved the same success as a teenager acts which had as a child. However represented their courage and determination, the spirit of America in the world. A false report of his death in Japan of Hirohito in 1943 launched a wild celebration on the streets.
